This project examines how public housing construction shapes grassroots political participation in urban China. It combines county-level land transaction records with longitudinal household survey data and studies residents’ participation in Residents’ Committee Elections.

View details →My research asks how housing systems reshape inequality, local governance, and political participation. I am particularly interested in how large-scale public interventions alter not only where people live, but also how they relate to communities and public institutions.
